This is the perfect time to visit New Orleans. The end of summer and the start of fall means the beginning of a number of signature festivals and must-see events make it a great month to experience the most the southern state has to offer. If you decide to visit in September, make sure you check out the list of festivals. There’s everything from The New Orleans Art Fest, to the National Fried Chicken Festival (yes, really)!
Arguably the best time of the year to visit at it offers some of the warmest temperatures and driest days, making sightseeing out in the open a great experiences. With it being one of the driest months, it makes it the perfect time to take an architecture river cruise or let your inner child out at the Navy Pier – a great attraction for kids and big kids alike.
If you’re anything like me, you love the idea of visiting Texas for the wild, wild, west lifestyle, but you’re not too sure about the hot, hot, weather. That’s why we recommend visiting the ‘living large’ state in September. Temperatures drop whilst still being higher than what us Brits are used to, but it’s a much more palatable 31 degrees on average. Plus, summer tourists have usually dispersed so you don’t have to wade through the crowds to experience everything the city has to offer.
Considered a part of New England, Boston Massachusetts offers beautiful natural views in the fall. With historical buildings dating back to the mid-17th century and crisp brown leaves falling from the native Northern Red Oak trees. It’s a stunning city, with friendly locals to boot!
Maybe surprising, September offers the best time to visit San Francisco, with temperatures reaching their warmest – though it can be rainy so pack an umbrella! There’s also less crowds to contend with as you discover landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island.
